What are the six elements that all sign languages share? We know of over 200 unique sign languages in the world, but they all use these six elements to create meaning.

In this first video, I look at handshape (or handform), using the example of Irish Sign Language. Handshape is the first element you should learn when you want to learn a sign language. It’s like the alphabet of the language.

I might re-record this video because I’m umm-ing quite a lot. Funny how we sound different to what we imagine!
