What’s the deal with Sign-Supported English (SSE), Signing Exact English (SEE), Pidgin Sign Language (PSE) and true sign languages like ASL, BSL, AUSLAN and ISL? Is it enough to learn SSE or do you need the grammar and syntax of true sign languages to communicate? How different can they be?
This video should provide some insight into the big difference between SSE, SEE and true sign languages. I use three examples with the same meaning in SSE and ISL, to illustrate this.
