Veronica and her friend Violet O’Brien have started a podcast. Shapeshifter Radio is Ireland’s only podcast dedicated to the trans and nonbinary community. Its focus is spreading information, focusing on interviews and the scientific, historical and cultural facts behind the news. And I’m involved too!

The first episode is an interview with the brilliant author and activist Juno Roche, who talks about sex, revolution, their first book Queer Sex, and their upcoming book Trans Power. Veronica and Violet also discuss the interview and some of their experiences as trans people.

The second episode is a Behind the Headlines episode where Veronica and I take a close look at the scientific, historical and other facts behind some of the headlines about trans, nonbinary, intersex and other LGBTQIA+ people. This episode includes a Scientific American article on sex not being binary; a Cornell University review of the scientific literature; findings of a recent Trevor Project survey; and Jay Hulme’s War in Words. We also discuss Eleanor Rykener, a trans woman who lived in the 1300s.
